Spring Renewal: A Holistic Reset for Home, Energy and Wellbeing

Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s begin again.
— Robin Williams

After the stillness and heaviness of winter, spring arrives as a gentle invitation. An invitation to open the windows, clear the corners and let fresh air move through our homes — and through ourselves. As the days lengthen and the light shifts, we often feel an instinctive urge to reset. To declutter what feels stagnant, to restore our energy and to nourish our wellbeing from the inside out.

The spring equinox marks a natural turning point — a moment of balance between light and dark — reminding us that renewal is not something we force, but something we allow. This is the season to cleanse our spaces, release blocked energy and support our bodies as they emerge from post-winter fatigue. From mindful home rituals to supporting gut health and vitality with flavonoid-rich foods, spring offers the perfect opportunity for a holistic reset.

A Simple Spring Equinox Home Ritual

Spring feels like the perfect time to shift the energy at home, not just the dust. I always start with a proper clean — opening the windows, wiping surfaces, moving things on that no longer feel aligned. There’s something so therapeutic about physically clearing a space before tending to the energy of it.

Once the room is clean, I love clapping in the corners or softly humming as I walk around. Corners can hold stagnant energy, and sound is such a simple, powerful way to move it on. It might feel a little unusual at first, but you can often sense when the room feels lighter.

To anchor that shift, I bring in scent and soft light. The Spring Equinox letterbox gift includes an organic aromatherapy room spray with frankincense for grounding, geranium bourbon to uplift and balance, and lavender to calm. A few spritzes around the space and lighting the spring tealights feels like sealing the ritual — welcoming the new season in with clarity, warmth and intention.

A Simple Spring Equinox Body Ritual

And of course, spring cleaning isn’t just for our homes — it’s for us, too.

This is the season to gently shed what feels heavy, and that can start quite literally with the skin. Before you shower, try dry body brushing with slow, upward strokes towards the heart. It helps to remove dead skin cells, support circulation and wake the body up after winter. Think of it as brushing away the old season.

After your shower, while your skin is still slightly warm, take a little time to massage in the Calm Massage Oil. Move slowly and intentionally — this isn’t about rushing, it’s about reconnecting. Let it soften the skin and soothe the nervous system at the same time.

For any extra dry patches — elbows, heels, hands — the Calm Balm is there to deeply nourish. Made with organic oils and butters, it melts into the skin and feels beautifully grounding. Together, they turn an everyday routine into a small spring ritual — a way of stepping into the new season feeling renewed, cared for and a little more at home in yourself.

Holding the Energy of Spring

And finally, to hold the energy of the season in your everyday moments, there’s our Garden Therapy essential oil blend with its aromastone diffuser. Rose damask softens, geranium leaf balances, pink grapefruit lifts and lavender steadies. A few drops on the stone beside your bed or workspace gently release the scent throughout the day — like carrying a little pocket of spring with you.

Mindful Moments for the Heart

Spring isn’t only about clearing space or nourishing the body — it’s also about softening the mind and opening the heart. The letterbox includes a mindfulness colouring sheet with crayons, a simple invitation to slow down and be fully present. Take a few quiet moments to fill the page with colour, letting your thoughts settle as your hand moves across the paper. No screens, no rushing — just gentle, mindful focus.

Tucked inside is a piece of rose quartz, a small, grounding reminder of self-compassion. Keep it by your bedside, on your desk, or hold it in your hand as you set intentions for the new season. Together, the colouring and crystal offer a subtle, calming pause — a way to nurture the inner self as the world around you awakens with spring.

A small, thoughtful way to welcome the light back in.

  • as you know, I love nature. If you want a garden filled with bumble bees, bees, butterflies and lots of insects, then please leave clearing away dead stems, digging the soil, clearing what we consider dead leaves. There will be overwintering insects in there and you could do lots of damage so I say, make a cuppa and sit with your face in the sunshine until the daytime temperatures are consistently above 10°C . The Bumblebee Trust ask we leave everything (soil, compost, old dead stems, leaf litter etc) until mid may and of course the RSPB ask that hedges and trees are not touched from the end of March due to birds nesting., If we care, we will restore nature. I am looking forward to watching and listening to my garden, its my favourite time of year as they are so busy.

As the earth awakens with Ostara’s bloom, may the warmth of spring remind us of life’s gentle rhythms, the love of mothers, and the endless promise of new beginnings
