Wellness is the quiet magic of December; it is the ideal time for self care

  • “everything is energy” Albert Einstein says, and he was right. We are made from energy, we are surrounded by energy, and we are highly affected by it, as is our home. For our emotional wellbeing, we need to refresh the energy within our home. The first step is to clear the clutter. old toys, clothes, electrical items, books, etc can be recycled or given to charities. Then have a good clean. Now you are ready for the next step.

  • before the new year begins, or even before Christmas. Release stagnant energy within your home. You can use sage incense sticks, but I prefer to clap in each corner of a room. This sends sound waves into the space, disturbing the stagnant energy. Open your windows, light a candle and speak your intention clearly “ I release the energy of the old and invite in clarity abundance and joy”

  • winter is a time for rest and nurture. Your bedroom’s energy helps you have good sleep. Your bedroom sets the tone for sleep and rest. Ensure it feels peaceful, uncluttered, and inviting. Use good quality bed linen, let natural light in, and keep everything in pairs, like two bedside tables and two lamps. Make the room yours, keep TVs out of the bedroom

  • Wear colours and textures that support how you want to feel. Earthy tones, rich reds, burgundy, navy and chcolate help us to feel grounded and secure.

Create a Vision Board for 2026

A Vision Board allows you to align your intention and vibration with your desires. There’s deep magic in sitting down with magazines, scrapbooking materials, scissors, and glue, choosing images that speak directly to your soul.

It doesn’t need to be aesthetically pleasing or shared online; it’s your private map of dreams. Photograph it and keep it as your screensaver, a daily reminder of what you want

A good sleep helps you feel happier and more active, let us help

For too many people, having a good nights sleep can be illusive, here are our tips to improve your bedtime routine. create a good sleep hygiene routine.:

  • go to bed at the same time every day and set your alarm for the same time in the morning.. This helps your circadian rhythm works at its optimum. Governed by the amount of daylight you enjoy each day, your circadian rhythm also needs darkness.

  • keep your bedroom quiet, calm and peaceful

  • make sure its not too hot or too cold

  • limit screen time before bed

  • read a book or listen to a podcast/audiobook an hour before bed instead of the TV. It has been proven that the white light from your tv affects the circadian rhythm

  • ensure you have plenty of exercise in the day so that you are tired

  • if you struggle with anxious thoughts, consider listening to calm music or practise mindful breathing

  • include scents in your bedroom. Our “help me its way past my bedtime” blend is made with organic essential oils of petitgrain (the leaves of the bitter orange tree and sleep inducing), ginger (excellent to help with indigestion but is a warming scent), eucalyptus to help open your airways and lavender, very soothing can calming.

  • dont eat too close to bedtime, it is recommended for a gap of 2-3 hours to help your diigestion.

Our five tips for a lovely relaxing Christmas

  • Christmas itself is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, it’s really lovely to go to Church to embrace the true meaning of Christmas and to be grateful for our life today. You dont need to put pressure on having the perfect gifts, a beautifully decorated tree or table. Christmas is about being with people you love and remembering that Christmas Day is a birthday.

  • Christmas Eve is a truly magical day, never be too old to search the sky for Father Christmas and his reindeers. Whether you have children or not, there is a very special excitement that only Christmas Eve has so embrace it. In Iceland, they celebrate Christmas Eve by gifting books to each other, and spend the evening reading, its called Jólabókaflóð. I think we should adopt this tradition in the UK as it sets the tone for a wonderfully relaxing Christmas.

  • If you are spending Christmas alone or far from family and friends. why not plan your day. Get outside as much as possible, have a self care day with a beauty day, your favourite films and even starting your Vision Board for 2026. And remember, If you are ever feeling lonely, always remember that we are under the same sky, looking at the same moon together

  • Drink plenty of water and maybe go for a long walk at some point to reset your thoughts.

  • Christmas can be overwhelming for people and animals so create a “quiet space” for anyone to retreat to for a short while. Add blankets, books, scents, jigsaws and maybe consider a separate space for animals. Put a sign on the door to stop others disturbing the moment.

A little housekeeping -

  • the last day for ordering online for postal delivery is FRIDAY 12TH DECEMBER but you can order online to collect from our shop in Winsford, Cheshire. We will close at 12 midday on Christmas Eve. Dont forget we offer a free local delivery service
