— unknown

Hello December and the start of advent. Today is the first day of our Big Advent Competition. For the next twelve days, we will have a puzzle for you to solve for a chance to win some wonderful prizes to celebrate the arrival of advent but also to celebrate the fact that I have been an aromatherapist, reflexologist and holistic therapist for 30 years, and we like to make a big fuss of you too. So head over to our social media and join in.

say hello to our winter blend, perfect for Christmas and beyond

We have blended organic essential oils of fir needle, clove, lemon, ginger and sweet orange to create the quintessential scent of the Festive time. Homely, comforting and joyful, the blend is available in a soy candle, reed diffuser, essential oil blend and a range of beautiful gifts for friends and family.

Fir needle essential oil (abies alba) has a fresh scent that helps to open your airways and has antimicrobial, antibacterial properties to help cleanse the air.

Clove essential oil is also excellent to clear airways, focus your thinking and is a powerful antioxidant oil, when blended with Ginger essential oil, you will find that your sinuses are calmed which in turn reduces the levels of phlegm in your respiratory system. As Ginger essential oil is a natural remedy for coughs and colds, you can be comforted that the “help me say hello to winter”, not only smells amazing but is therapeutic too.

We have added lemon and sweet orange essential oils as they are very beneficial for soothing levels of anxiety and increases your feelings of happiness.

Christmas Reed Diffuser 250ml

We use pure organic essential oils in a vegan, non toxic base for our Christmas Reed Diffuser

Christmas is a time for giving gifts to friends and family. This year it is more important than ever to choose your gifts carefully. Instead of buying mass produced, imported from China which are made with climate damaging chemicals, most of which end up in landfill, find gifts that are made sustainably and more personal.

In our workshop, we design and create every product, we spend hours finding packaging which can be reused, recycled and composted. We only use organic ingredients, carefully sourced from UK businesses, and ensure that they have the same high level of ethics as we do.

We will NEVER use palm oil, parabens, synthetic oils and we will NEVER use anything that has been tested on animals.

Please have a look at our Gift Guide which will help you find beautiful thoughtful gifts this year. The final day to order is Friday 15th December 2023.

Small Business Saturday - 2nd December 2023

We are so proud to have been chosen as a SmallBiz100 back in 2018, the moment the email arrived in our inbox will never be forgotten.

I come from a long line of self employed entrepreneurs. My Grandad was an electrician for the town and my Dad had a successful mini coach company so it was natural for me to work for myself. For the last 29 years, I have been busy working in my holistic therapy salon, it is from my recipes used in my treatments, that the blends for the Helpmeorganics products have been developed.

Personally, this year I celebrate 30 years of completing my 6 year training in aromatherapy, reflexology and holistic therapy, I have kept on learning new therapies and skills ever since. So taking part in Small Business Saturday is one of the first dates written in my diary, I love it!

If there were no independant shops, businesses and makers in the UK, it would be a much greyer country so lets cherish all the shops, markets, makers, online businesses, often run by 1 or 2 people, families and can be key employers in villages and towns around the UK. We cant lose our high streets but we need to support them by shopping and celebrating them.

Christmas is a wonderful time of the year but it can also be a very stressful time of year, here are our tips to cope

  • Firstly, decide what type of Christmas you would like. You may love to be the host, and get a real buzz from having your family and friends around. And i think thats lovely but you need to get organised. Could you cook ahead and freeze as much as possible? Maybe put the request to guests that they have to bring a component of the meal or maybe an after-dinner game. Think of children and pets. The day can be super stressful for them so think of a quiet space for anyone who needs a minute to escape to. Make it animal and human friendly and add a note to the door to leave it open if its empty and not go in if it is closed.

  • Christmas does not have to be perfect. It really is not important if the table cloth doesn’t match the napkins or if the glasses are from different designs. Christmas is about being together and smiling. It is a day to celebrate the arrival of a Baby. I love going to Church, this is my choice and I would never suggest that everyone should go, but to embrace the true meaning of Christmas brings a sense of calm and joy. There’s something wonderful about being in a place of worship, the stillness is so peaceful but i also enjoy time in nature, this is also very spiritual.

  • I know that many people enjoy a glass or two (and I do too) but if too much food and drink happens, it can lead to a few issues so make sure theres plenty of chilled water to keep you and your guests hydrated.

  • If you are having a quiet Christmas (as we do), treat yourself to a jigsaw or two. Charity shops have plenty. Get out for plenty of walks too as the fresh air helps to clear your head.

  • If you are having Christmas on your own, thats a wonderful opportunity to watch movies, read books or start a project. I know a lady who decided to revamp her bedroom over Christmas completely, she had a great time. And remember, if you feel lonely, look outside at the big nights sky, there will be many more people also looking at the stars so you are not alone. Sarah Millican runs an annual Christmas get together which I think is lovely.

And finally ….

  • If you are looking for a gift for someone who lives away, send them a Letterbox Gift. We have filled a beautiful box with organic aromatherapy products and gifts to make them feel pampered, from soy wax melts, tealights, therapy balm, massage oil, crystal and more, this box is designed to fit through any conventional letterbox.

  • We are having to slightly increase our prices to cope with ever increasing costs but we have new gift boxes and products planned for 2024.

  • And So To Shop are closing its marketplace platform so our shop there will close on 31st December 2023 but you can still find us on Etsy and Small Market and of course from our own website

O Wind, if Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and that 2024 brings you happiness, love and a feeling of wonderment. Linda, kevin and Claire, the Helpmeorganics team xxx
