Moon Therapy

Sometimes, all we need is a quiet moment under the moon to remember that healing doesn’t always need noise - just stillness, breath, and time

We are thrilled to introduce our fourth member of the Nature Therapy Botanicals Discovery Collection: Moon Therapy. The Moon is our anchor and gives the oceans their ebb and flow, essential for oxygenating the oceans and circulating currents that help our marine ecosystems. The moon helps animals migrate while assisting us in timekeeping.

The moon is illuminated by the sun, which causes changes in how much of the moon we can see. There are many phases of the moon, each has an effect on our emotional and spiritual states, and many people have learnt to live their lives by the cycle of our big, beautiful moon.

I have always had a fascination with the night sky; you will often find me staring into the night, trying to find constellations, planets, and, of course, the moon. When we say hello to the moon, this helps to calm our thoughts and connects us with the big universe and the natural rhythms of Earth.

The lunar cycle takes approximately 27 and nearly 30 days to complete one orbit of the earth, however if we consider the lunar cycle to be when we enjoy a new moon until the next new moon, this on average is 29 days. There are several phases that the moon travels through, this happens due to Earth also rotating, this affects how the light from the Sun illuminates the Moon.

  • New Moon - a time for pause, new beginnings and planting seeds for the future. it is a time to set intentions, create new goals

  • Waxing Moon - as the moon grows, this represents growth, momentum and the building of energy

  • Full Moon - this is the peak of lunar power, symbolising illumination, celebrating and achievement. Completion.

  • Waning Moon - a period of reflection, release and quiet as you let go of what no longer serves you

Moon Therapy Soy Candle

“go slowly, dear moon, go slowly”

help me have some Moon therapy

I wanted to create a blend of essential oils that encapsulates all of the phases of the moon. When I think of the moon energy, it is quiet, healing, kind and thoughtful yet energetic and confident.

The Moon Therapy blend is Neroli, Myrtle and Ylang Ylang, the scent is absolutely beautiful. I have chosen these oils because

  • Neroli - purity, renewal and helps you to free yourself from old thoughts and patterns. It is also a powerful oil for meditation

  • Myrtle - a healing oil for any higher selves, love, self love and helps us to forgive, including ourselves

  • Ylang Ylang - helps to balance chakras, emotions and helps to soothe the mind and body

The Moon Therapy blend is part of our Nature Therapy Botanicals Discover Collection, available in an essential oil blend, soy candle and two gift sets.

Heres a wonderful breathing exercise

  • Sit back, close your eyes and place your hand on your heart. Take a big, full, deep breath in, pause for a moment at the top of the inhale and then take a big, full, deep breath out and pause for a second at the bottom of the exhale.

  • Take another deep breath in, pause. Then, another big deep breath out and pause.

  • Repeat this a few times and really tune into and experience the cycle of the breath and how each phase makes you feel.

  • This breathing exercise activates your parasympathetic nervous system and releases oxytocin.

And finally …..

  • the gardening year is slowing down now but if you want a garden filled with butterflies, bees, ladybirds etc, it is essential that you leave seedheads, leaves, your grass longer and not treated. I was reading an article on how to help the Carder Bee. It asks us to grow wildflowers for late season forage, create undisturbed areas of tossocky grass and scrub areas for nesting bees, but they also over winter in these areas too.

  • did you know that a pile of leaves can house over 100 species, including moths, beetles, newts and frogs and beneficial insects. Please dont bag them up, leave them on the soil and watch the worms work their magic. Your soil will thrive come Springtime!

  • Microaction is small, deliberate actions that over time build towards BIG results, how cool is that if we all took small steps as a collective

  • Recently I have become aware of how the light pollution is affecting migratory animals and birds. Simple changes will make big results, another microaction. By changing your bulbs in outdoor lights to ones that are fully shielded to only send the light downwards. You can read about which outdoor lights and bulbs are approved by the Dark sky people. Once you have changed your bulbs and/or lights, tell your friends.

  • During October, we have a Full Moon on the 7th , this is known as the Hunters Moon. The New Moon is on October 21st.

  • Our Christmas Gift Guide is now available to browse. All of our gifts are ready for you to give to friends and family this Christmas.

  • October 30th will see the arrival of our first Subscription Letterbox, Solquinox. I am a big believer that the two equinoxes and two solstices are an important part of our lives, and the Solquinox Letterbox Subscription is the perfect gift for anyone who shares this sentiment. There are four letterboxes: winter, spring, summer and autumn. Each one filled with products made in my workshop to help you celebrate. From essential oil blends, aromastone diffuser, tealights, room spray, massage oil and therapy balm, the letterbox is full., but you will also discover mindfulness colouring, meditations and simple information to help you understand and embrace natures wheel.

I hope you have a wonderful October, Linda xx
